The history of shipbuilding goes apparently back to the time when there has been water, people and wood on the earth. The shipbuilding skill of Sumerians is known from across four thousand years. From there the technical skill in shipbuilding has been transmitted to civilized nations. The Siemens-Martin process produced the steel quality strongly required by shipbuilders after the middle of the 19th century.
The Finns have always been excellent shipbuilders exporting the Finnish know-how all over the world. Today’s ships are units with top technology, independent communities.

UKITIG / UKITECH has been involved in building piping and in equipment installations onboard these vessels. In shipbuilding industry the building of piping is concentrated on renovation work including e.g. sprinkler, sanitary, air and sea-water piping, as well as wash water and hydraulic piping of tanks.
